Protect exterior and high-security openings with the Detex V40 EB W CD 99 36 Value Series Weatherized Rim Exit Device.

Designed for commercial doors and gates exposed to rain, moisture, temperature changes, and demanding outdoor conditions, the EB W weatherized alarm package combines Detex's heavy-duty V40xW rim exit hardware with a self-contained 9V battery-powered exit alarm.

When an unauthorized exit attempt occurs, the device sounds an approximately 100 dB alarm to alert personnel while maintaining required panic egress. This configuration includes cylinder dogging, a 99 surface strike, and is sized for 36" / 3-foot door applications.

Weatherized EB W Alarm

The EB W option is engineered specifically for outdoor, wet, and other environmentally demanding openings.

When the alarm is armed and the exit device is activated, the internal alarm sounds at approximately 100 dB, providing immediate notification of an unauthorized exit attempt.

Because the alarm operates from a standard 9V battery, a dedicated hardwired power supply is not required for normal alarm operation.

Alarm Functions

The Detex EB W package provides:

• Approximately 100 dB audible alarm

• Visual arming indication

• Audible arming indication

• Armed and disarmed status indication

• Remote signal capability

• Remote bypass capability

• Low-battery warning

• Indefinite alarm with manual reset

• Optional 2-minute alarm duration with automatic rearm

These features make the V40 EB W an excellent solution for perimeter security, loss prevention, and controlled emergency exits.

Cylinder Dogging

The CD – Cylinder Dogging option allows authorized personnel to mechanically hold the pushpad and latchbolt in the retracted position.

Detex utilizes a 1/8-turn cylinder dogging function, allowing key-controlled free passage during approved unlocked periods.

Mortise cylinder is not included unless specifically stated.

Weatherized Construction

The V40xW Series is designed for commercial doors and gates that may be exposed to weather.

The weatherized design is tested for demanding environmental conditions, including:

• Driving rain

• Salt fog

• Temperature exposure

• Dust exposure

• Positive-pressure conditions

This makes the V40 EB W well suited for exterior doors where a conventional indoor panic device or alarm may not be appropriate.

Important Ordering Information

The 36 designation refers to the configuration for a 36" / 3-foot door.

Finish is not specified in this ordering string and should be selected separately according to the exact Detex configuration being supplied.

Because this device includes cylinder dogging, it should be used on appropriate non-fire-rated openings. Verify door width, finish, cylinder requirements, strike, and local life-safety requirements before ordering.
