Designed primarily for aluminum storefront and narrow-stile commercial doors, the 4510 combines a spring-loaded deadlatch with an auxiliary locking bolt to provide dependable everyday latching while helping resist latch manipulation.

This exact configuration features a 31/32" backset, flat faceplate, guarded latchbolt, and 628 Clear Anodized Aluminum finish.

Traffic Control / Bolt Holdback

The 4510 provides flexible traffic control for commercial entrances.

When the latchbolt is fully retracted, an authorized key turn can retain the bolt in the retracted position, allowing the door to operate freely for two-way traffic.

The latch can later be returned to normal operation so the door once again latches automatically when closed.

This feature makes the 4510 well suited for facilities that require:

• Free entrance during business hours

• Controlled entry after hours

• Exit-only operation when required

• Convenient daytime storefront operation

Guarded Deadlatch

The 4510 uses a spring-loaded latchbolt with an auxiliary locking bolt.

When the door closes and the auxiliary bolt is properly engaged against the strike, the latchbolt is deadlocked to help resist attempts to manipulate or “loide” the latch with a thin object.

Cylinder Requirements

The 4510 accepts a standard:

• 1" long mortise cylinder

• 1-5/32" diameter

• Adams Rite MS® cam

Compatible Adams Rite options include the 4036 Mortise Cylinder and 4066 Thumbturn.

Cylinder and thumbturn are sold separately.

Strike Configuration

This SKU is commonly supplied with a 4-5/8" mortise strike configuration for the applicable jamb preparation.

Adams Rite offers additional strike configurations for:

• Flat jambs

• Center-hung doors

• Paired doors

• Retrofit applications

Interchangeable MS® Prep

The 4510 is designed to interchange with compatible Adams Rite MS1850S deadlocks having the same backset and faceplate shape without requiring modification to the door stile.

The 4510 provides deadlatch traffic-control functionality but is not intended to provide the same security level as an MS® Deadlock.
