ANSI-Size Deadlatch

The 4920AN is the ANSI-sized version of the Adams Rite heavy-duty deadlatch.

Unlike the 4900 Series commonly used in narrow-stile aluminum storefront doors, the 4920AN is designed for wood and hollow metal doors prepared to ANSI standards.

The lock requires a minimum door thickness of approximately:

1-3/4"

This makes it ideal for conventional commercial hollow metal and architectural wood door openings.

1-1/2" Backset

This exact configuration uses:

1-1/2" Backset

Backset is measured from the edge of the door to the centerline of the mortise cylinder.

Adams Rite also offers the 4920AN with a 2-3/4" backset, so always confirm the existing preparation before ordering.

RH / LHR Handing

This configuration is factory designated for:

• RH – Right Hand

• LHR – Left Hand Reverse

The latchbolt itself can be reversed in the field without special tools, but the ordered configuration should still be matched to the intended opening.

Key-Controlled Bolt Holdback

The 4920AN provides flexible traffic control for commercial entrances.

When the latchbolt is fully retracted, a reverse turn of the key retains the latchbolt in the retracted position.

This allows the door to operate freely for two-way traffic.

When holdback is released, the deadlatch returns to normal operation, allowing the entrance to provide controlled access while still permitting egress from the secured side.

Heavy-Duty Latchbolt

The 4920AN uses a solid-brass latchbolt designed for demanding commercial service.
