Hex Dogging

The HD hex dogging function allows the pushpad to be mechanically held in the depressed position using a hex key.

When dogged:

• The latchbolt remains retracted

• The door provides free passage

• Repeated operation of the pushpad is unnecessary

• The device can be returned to normal latching operation when security is required

Hex dogging is commonly used on commercial openings that remain unlocked during regular business hours.

Important Fitment Note

The 48" designation refers to the door-width configuration, not the exact physical length of the exit device.

For fire-rated openings, a less-dogging fire-rated configuration should be specified instead of the HD hex-dogging version.
