Help prevent commercial doors from being left or propped open with the Detex EAX-300 Battery-Powered Door Prop Alarm.

Designed for openings that may be used for normal egress or ingress but should not remain open, the EAX-300 monitors door position using an internal magnetic contact. If the door remains open longer than the programmed delay, the unit activates a powerful 100 dB alarm to alert nearby personnel.

The alarm automatically silences when the door is closed, eliminating the need for a keyholder to manually reset the alarm after every activation.

Door Prop Alarm Operation

Once armed, the EAX-300 monitors the position of the door.

If the door remains open longer than the selected delay:

1. The internal magnetic contact detects that the door is open.

2. The programmed delay period begins.

3. If the door is not closed before the delay expires, the 100 dB alarm activates.

4. Closing the door automatically silences the alarm.

The adjustable delay helps prevent nuisance alarms while still providing effective monitoring of doors that should not remain open.

The EAX-300 can be configured with compatible cylinder options for authorized control.

Mortise cylinder is sold separately unless specifically ordered as part of a factory-configured unit. Detex offers compatible cylinder and interchangeable-core housing options.
