Protect exterior and high-security openings with the Detex V40 EB W CD 99 48 Value Series Weatherized Rim Exit Device.

Designed for doors and gates exposed to rain, moisture, temperature changes, and other demanding conditions, the EB W weatherized alarm package combines Detex's heavy-duty V40 exit hardware with a self-contained 9V battery-powered alarm.

When an unauthorized exit attempt occurs, the device sounds an approximately 100 dB alarm, alerting personnel while still providing required panic egress. This configuration also includes cylinder dogging, a 99 surface strike, and is designed for 48" door applications.

Weatherized EB W Alarm

The EB W option is specifically engineered for exterior, wet, and other environmentally demanding applications.

When the pushpad is activated while the alarm is armed, the internal alarm sounds at approximately 100 dB, providing immediate notification of an unauthorized exit attempt.

The unit operates from a 9V battery, eliminating the need for a dedicated hardwired power supply for standard alarm operation.

Alarm Functions

The EB W package provides:

• Approximately 100 dB audible alarm

• Green and red status LEDs

• Key-controlled arming

• Remote alarm signaling

• Remote bypass input

• Low-battery indication

• Manual rearm option

• Field-selectable automatic rearm

• Pushpad monitoring

This makes the V40 EB W well suited for loss prevention, perimeter security, and controlled emergency exits.

Weatherized Construction

Unlike a standard indoor exit alarm, the V40xW weatherized design is intended for openings exposed to moisture and environmental conditions.

The weatherized alarm configuration has been tested to applicable driving-rain and salt-fog standards, making it an excellent choice for exterior commercial doors and gates.

Cylinder Dogging

The CD – Cylinder Dogging option allows authorized personnel to mechanically hold the pushpad in the retracted position using a compatible mortise cylinder.

This provides free passage during scheduled unlocked periods while allowing the door to return to normal secured operation when required.

Cylinder is not included unless specifically stated.
