SDC PT-3V Surface-Mount Power Transfer Door Loop
18" Armored Flex Conduit | Aluminum Termination Boxes | 1/4" I.D. | 628 Satin Aluminum
Provide a simple, durable wiring path between the frame and electrified door hardware with the SDC PT-3V Surface-Mount Power Transfer Loop.
Designed for commercial access-control installations, the PT-3V transfers power and/or control wiring from the stationary door frame to equipment mounted on the moving door. Its stainless steel armored flexible conduit helps protect wiring as the door opens and closes, while aluminum termination boxes provide a clean surface-mounted installation.
The PT-3V is especially suited for hollow metal and aluminum door frames where a concealed mortise power transfer is not required.

Power Transfer Application
The PT-3V creates a protected pathway for wires that must travel from the stationary frame to electrified hardware mounted on the moving door.
Typical connected equipment can include:
-
Electrified Exit Devices
-
Electric Locks
-
Electric Latch Retraction
-
Request-to-Exit Devices
-
Door Monitoring Contacts
-
Access-Control Hardware
-
Electrified Locksets
-
Other Compatible Low-Voltage Door Hardware
The flexible armored conduit moves with the door while helping protect conductors from physical damage.
Surface-Mount Design
Unlike concealed mortise power-transfer devices, the PT-3V installs directly on the surface of the door and frame.
This makes it especially useful for:
-
Retrofit access-control projects
-
Existing hollow metal doors
-
Aluminum storefront entrances
-
Openings where mortising the door or frame is undesirable
-
Commercial door upgrades
Aluminum Termination Boxes
The PT-3V differs from the PT-2U by using aluminum box end caps / termination boxes rather than plastic ends.
SDC identifies the standard PT-3V configuration as:
Surface Loop – Aluminum Box End Caps – 628 Finish.
628 Satin Aluminum Finish
628 = Satin Aluminum / Clear Anodized
This finish coordinates well with common commercial aluminum storefront frames, automatic door headers, exit devices, and architectural hardware.
