The 4:1 reduction ratio provides additional mechanical advantage, reducing the pulling effort required to raise and lower a properly balanced rolling, sectional, vertical-lift, or high-lift commercial door.

Unlike shaft-mounted designs, this configuration mounts the main hoist assembly to the wall and connects to the door shaft through an external sprocket and #41 roller chain drive.

How It Works

The drive sprocket mounts to the compatible 1" door shaft, while the main hoist assembly mounts to the wall.

A #41 roller chain connects the shaft sprocket to the hoist. Pulling the hand chain turns the reduction drive, which transfers motion through the sprocket system to operate the door.

The 4:1 mechanical reduction provides greater leverage than direct-drive systems, helping make larger doors easier to operate manually.

Installation Notes

Wall-mounted 4:1 systems require proper alignment between the hoist and door-shaft sprockets. The roller chain should be properly tensioned and aligned before operation.
