When an unauthorized exit attempt occurs, the system initiates a standard 15-second delay, providing personnel additional response time before egress is permitted.

This configuration includes CD cylinder dogging, an FC3 3-foot flexible conduit kit, standard 99 surface strike, and 628 brushed aluminum finish.

EE – 15-Second Delayed Egress

When the system is armed and an exit attempt occurs:

1. Operation of the exit device initiates the delayed-egress sequence.

2. The 100 dB alarm sounds.

3. The opening remains secured during the standard 15-second delay.

4. After the required delay, egress is permitted.

The system provides additional time for facility personnel to respond to unauthorized exits while maintaining the life-safety requirements of an approved delayed-egress opening.

Fire Alarm Interface

The Detex EE system requires a fire-alarm input so the delayed-egress locking function can be overridden during an emergency.

The fire-alarm connection is made through the system power supply and allows immediate release when required by the approved life-safety system.

FC3 – 3' Flexible Conduit

The FC3 option includes a 3-foot flexible conduit kit that mounts to the device end cap.

This provides a protected wiring pathway between the electrified exit device and the building's power/control system.

CD – Cylinder Dogging

The CD Cylinder Dogging option provides key-controlled dogging of the exit device.

Cylinder dogging allows authorized personnel to control the dogging function with a mortise cylinder rather than a standard hex key.

Mortise cylinder is sold separately unless specifically ordered as a factory-installed cylinder option.

90-800 Power Supply Included

Detex specifies that the EE delayed-egress configuration comes standard with a 90-800 power supply.

The EE device operates on 24VDC filtered and regulated power, with the power supply also providing the required fire-alarm interface.
