Integrate a standard CCTV camera into a compatible Aiphone AX Series intercom system with the Aiphone AXW-AZ Video Adaptor.

The AXW-AZ allows video from a third-party CCTV camera to be viewed directly on compatible AX Series video master stations. An optional compatible audio door station can also be connected, allowing the camera location to function as a complete audio/video entrance point.

CCTV Camera Integration

The AXW-AZ converts the video signal from a standard CCTV camera into a connection compatible with the AX Series.

This allows personnel using a compatible AX video master station to view a remote camera as part of the intercom system.

It is useful for entrances where:

• A specialized CCTV camera is already installed

• A wider or different camera view is required

• A camera must be positioned separately from the intercom

• Existing security-camera infrastructure needs to integrate with the AX system

Audio Door Station Input

A compatible Aiphone IE or IF Series audio door station can be connected to the AXW-AZ.

This allows the installation to combine:

• Third-party CCTV video

• Aiphone hands-free audio communication

• AX Series master-station control

This is useful when a standard integrated AX video door station is not suitable for the opening.

Automatic Camera Activation

The AXW-AZ includes a Normally Closed sensor input that can automatically activate the CCTV camera location.

A compatible motion detector or other sensing device can be used to initiate the camera function when activity is detected.

The camera can also be activated manually from a compatible AX Series master station.

Continuous Video Output

A dedicated composite video output allows the CCTV camera signal to remain available for continuous viewing or recording.

The video output can be connected to compatible:

• CCTV monitors

• DVR systems

• Video recorders

• Security monitoring equipment

This allows the same camera to serve both the Aiphone intercom system and the building's CCTV system.

Relay Output

The AXW-AZ includes a relay output that can be used to trigger an external device when the CCTV camera is activated.

Potential applications include compatible:

• External signaling devices

• Recording equipment

• Security interfaces

• Auxiliary control equipment

AX Series Connection

The AXW-AZ connects to a compatible AX Series central exchange unit using CAT-5e cable.

Compatible AX equipment may include:

• AX-084C Central Exchange Unit

• AX-248C Central Exchange Unit

• AX Series video master stations

• Compatible AX Series expansion equipment

Always verify compatibility with the existing system before ordering.
