Advantex Wide-Stile Exit Device Trim | Storeroom Function | S Lever | LHR | 626 Satin Chrome
Provide secure keyed exterior entry for compatible Detex exit devices with the DETEX 09-D-S-626-LHR Storeroom Lever Trim.
The 09D storeroom function keeps the exterior lever locked under normal conditions. Inserting and turning the proper key temporarily unlocks the lever for authorized entry. Once the key is removed, the lever returns to the locked condition, helping maintain automatic exterior security without requiring the user to relock the trim manually.
This configuration features Detex's standard S-style lever, LHR – Left Hand Reverse handing, and a durable 626 / US26D Satin Chrome finish.

09D Storeroom Function
The defining feature of the 09D is its storeroom-style keyed operation.
Normal Condition
With the key removed:
Exterior Lever Is Locked
The lever cannot be used to retract the exit-device latch from the exterior.
Authorized Entry
Insert and turn the proper key:
Exterior Lever Becomes Operable
The user can operate the lever and retract the exit-device latch for entry.
Key Removed
When the key is removed:
Lever Returns to the Locked Condition
There is no need to manually relock the trim after entry.
Detex officially describes the 09D function as:
Key unlocks lever; locked when key removed.
Free Egress from the Interior
The exterior storeroom trim controls entry, not emergency egress.
When properly installed with a compatible Detex exit device, occupants continue to operate the interior pushpad to exit.
This makes the 09D well suited for doors where:
-
Exterior entry should normally remain secured
-
Authorized personnel require keyed access
-
Interior egress must remain readily available
Compatible with Detex 10 Series
The D-style wide-stile trim is designed for compatible Detex:
-
10 Series Rim Exit Devices
-
20 Series Surface Vertical Rod Exit Devices
For 30 Series mortise devices, Detex uses the DM trim designation instead.
S-Style Lever
The S in the model identifies Detex's:
S Lever – Standard
The S lever is the standard lever design used across Detex's wide-stile trim family. Detex also offers alternate lever designs in certain configurations, but this listing is specifically for the S lever.
Vandal-Resistant Breakaway Lever
Detex wide-stile lever trims incorporate a breakaway-type lever designed to help minimize permanent damage caused by abuse or excessive force.
If the lever is forced beyond its normal locking point, an internal disengaging clutch allows the lever to release rather than transferring the full force into the locking mechanism.
The lever can then be returned to its normal position.
This feature is especially valuable in:
-
Schools
-
Public buildings
-
Healthcare facilities
-
Government facilities
-
Institutional environments
-
High-traffic commercial buildings
LHR – Left Hand Reverse
This configuration is supplied:
LHR – Left Hand Reverse
For a typical outward-swinging commercial opening, LHR generally indicates the hinges are on the left when viewed from the exterior or secure side.
The Detex 09D is one of the lever-trim functions that can be field reversed. Detex otherwise ships applicable lever trims RHR unless LHR is specified.
Always verify actual door handing before installation.
626 Satin Chrome Finish
Finish: 626 / US26D Satin Chrome
Detex lists 626 as the standard finish for this wide-stile lever trim.
The finish coordinates well with:
-
Satin chrome hinges
-
Commercial locksets
-
Door closers
-
Exit-device components
-
Push and pull hardware
-
Other US26D architectural hardware
Mortise Cylinder Required
The 09D keyed storeroom function requires a compatible:
Mortise Cylinder
Detex marks the 09D configuration as requiring a mortise cylinder.
Before ordering the cylinder, verify:
-
Keyway
-
Cylinder length
-
Cam
-
Keying requirements
-
Master-key system
-
Facility key-control requirements
Cylinder is not assumed to be included with this listing unless specifically stated.

09D Storeroom vs. 08D Classroom
09D – Storeroom
Key temporarily unlocks the lever.
When the key is removed, the lever automatically returns to the locked condition.
08D – Classroom
Key locks or unlocks the lever.
The lever can remain unlocked after the key is removed until it is intentionally locked again.
For doors that should remain secured from the exterior automatically, the 09D Storeroom function is generally the appropriate choice.
