Secure the bottom rail of compatible narrow-stile entrance doors with the Adams Rite 1830 Series Swing Bolt Bottom Rail Deadlock.
Designed specifically for ultra-narrow stile aluminum and tempered-glass doors, the 1830 provides strong mechanical bottom-rail locking in applications where the door shoe is too shallow for a larger conventional bottom-rail deadbolt.
Its compact laminated swing bolt minimizes the required threshold opening while an armored faceplate helps protect the cylinder set screws from tampering.

Bottom Rail Locking Application
The 1830 is designed for installations where the bottom rail or door shoe does not have enough depth for a larger bottom-rail deadbolt.
It provides a compact locking solution while keeping the threshold strike opening relatively small.
This helps reduce:
-
Debris collection
-
Large floor openings
-
Shoe snagging
-
Unnecessary threshold modification
Swing Bolt Operation
A 360° turn of the key or thumbturn projects or retracts the counterbalanced swing bolt.
The key can be removed only when the bolt is fully:
-
Locked, or
-
Unlocked
This helps ensure the bolt is positively positioned before the key is removed.
5/8" Bolt Throw
The 1830 uses a compact laminated bolt with approximately:
Bolt Throw: 5/8"
The laminated construction provides increased resistance to physical attack while maintaining a smaller profile suitable for shallow bottom rails.
Laminated Security Bolt
The lock uses a multi-ply steel bolt construction with a hardened ceramic core in the center ply to help deter hacksaw attack.
This makes the 1830 well suited for commercial storefront and security-door applications where a compact bottom-rail lock is required.
Armored Faceplate
The armored faceplate helps:
-
Protect cylinder set screws
-
Reduce tampering
-
Prevent set screws from loosening
-
Protect internal lock components
