Provide secure electronic access control without compromising a fire-rated opening with the Adams Rite 7200 Series Fire-Rated Electric Strike.

Designed specifically for hollow metal door jambs, the 7200 Series combines reliable electric strike operation with a UL 10C 3-hour fire rating when used in the required Fail-Secure configuration.

Choose the 7240 for cylindrical locksets with up to a 5/8" latchbolt projection, or the 7270 for compatible mortise or cylindrical locksets with up to a 3/4" latchbolt projection.

Both models feature a 1-1/4" x 4-7/8" flat, square-corner faceplate in 630 / US32D Satin Stainless Steel.

7240 – Cylindrical Lock Electric Strike

The Adams Rite 7240 is designed for commercial hollow-metal openings using compatible cylindrical locksets.

The 7240 is an excellent choice for fire-rated openings equipped with commercial cylindrical lever or knob locksets.

7270 – Mortise / Cylindrical Lock Electric Strike

The Adams Rite 7270 provides a larger strike opening for compatible mortise or cylindrical locksets with up to a 3/4" latchbolt projection.

Fail-Secure Operation

The Adams Rite 7200 Series is supplied Fail-Secure, meaning the strike remains locked when electrical power is removed.

Power is applied to release the keeper and permit entry.

For a fire-rated opening, the strike must be used in its approved Fail-Secure configuration.

Optional Monitoring

Monitored versions are available with two Form C monitoring switches.

These switches can provide status information indicating:

• Whether the latchbolt is engaged in the strike

• Whether the strike keeper/jaw is blocked or released

This makes monitored models well suited for integration with commercial access-control and building-security systems.

Standard Strike Lip

The standard strike lip is designed for a typical 1-3/4" thick door that closes flush with the jamb edge.

Standard configuration:

00 – Door Centerline to Jamb Edge: 1-1/16" or Less

An extended lip configuration is also available for certain interior-frame applications:

50 – 1-3/8"

Fire-rated 7200 Series lip extensions must be properly selected for the opening.
