Designed for Rim Exit Devices

The Adams Rite 74R1 is designed for compatible rim panic and rim exit devices using a Pullman-style latchbolt with up to 3/4" projection.

Unlike the Adams Rite 7400 Series strikes used with deadlatches and cylindrical locks, the 74R1 is specifically engineered around rim exit device latch geometry.

Important Compatibility Note

The 74R1 is intended for rim exit devices without auxiliary deadlocking latchbolts.

It is not designed for Adams Rite 4500 or 4900 Series deadlatches.

Fail-Secure / Fail-Safe Operation

Fail-Secure

The strike remains locked when electrical power is removed and electrically releases when power is applied.

The strike releases when electrical power is removed.

This field-selectable design allows the installer to configure the strike based on access-control and code requirements.

74R1M Monitored Version

The Adams Rite 74R1M adds monitoring capability for access-control systems requiring hardware-status feedback.

The monitored model includes two Form C monitoring switches that can provide indication of:

• Latchbolt engagement in the strike

• Locked/unlocked solenoid status

The 74R1M is ideal for security systems requiring confirmation that the exit device latch and electric strike are in the expected condition.
