Two Bolt Configurations

MS1950P – Straight Bolt

The standard MS1950P uses a large laminated straight bolt designed primarily for swinging aluminum doors.

Bolt Throw: 1-3/8"

The long bolt projection provides substantial engagement with the jamb and is particularly useful on tall or flexible commercial aluminum doors.

MS1950P-X5X – Hookbolt

The MS1950P-X5X replaces the straight bolt with a laminated stainless-steel hookbolt designed for sliding doors.

Hookbolt Size: 5/8" x 1-3/8"
Hookbolt Throw: 13/16"

The hook-shaped bolt engages the strike in a way that helps resist attempts to:

• Spread the sliding door from the jamb

• Lift the door from its track

• Pry the opening apart

Fully Stainless-Steel Construction

The MS1950P is designed as a premium upgrade to traditional MS deadlocks.

The lock features:

Laminated MS® Bolt

Both configurations use an eight-ply laminated stainless-steel bolt.

The center ply incorporates an alumina-ceramic core designed to help defeat hacksaw attacks, including high-performance rod-type saw blades.

360° Lock Operation

A complete:

360° turn of the key or thumbturn

projects or retracts the counterbalanced bolt.

The key can be removed only when the bolt reaches a fully:

• Locked position, or

• Unlocked position

When the deadbolt is retracted, the opening can operate as a passage door until the lock is engaged again.

Backset Options

The MS1950P Series is available in three common narrow-stile backsets:

• 31/32"

• 1-1/8"

• 1-1/2"

Mortise Cylinder Compatibility

The lock accepts a standard:

1" long x 1-5/32" diameter mortise cylinder

equipped with an Adams Rite MS® cam.

Compatible Adams Rite examples include:

• 4036 Mortise Cylinder

• 4066 Thumbturn

Cylinder and thumbturn are sold separately.

The lock body can accept compatible operating hardware from either or both sides of the door.

Compatible Interior Controls

Depending on the required configuration, the MS1950P can also work with compatible:

• 4089 Exit Indicator

• 4550 Deadlock Lever

• Mortise cylinder

• Thumbturn

An interior thumbturn and compatible 4550 lever arrangement may be used for applications requiring convenient interior operation.

Multi-Point Locking Capability

The straight-bolt MS1950P can be combined with compatible Adams Rite accessories to create multi-point locking systems.

Important Electric Strike Compatibility

Adams Rite specifies that the hookbolt MS1950P-X5X configuration can be used with a compatible HES 1006 electric strike equipped with the appropriate R-option faceplate.

The standard straight-bolt configuration is not compatible with this electric-strike arrangement.

Fire-Rating Information

MS Series deadlocks are not fire rated.

Do not use the MS1950P as a locking component on a fire-rated opening unless the complete application is specifically permitted by its listings and the authority having jurisdiction.
