Fail-Secure / Fail-Safe

The 7400 can be field configured for either:

Fail-Secure

The strike remains locked when power is removed and releases when power is applied.

Fail-Safe

The strike releases when electrical power is removed.

Always select the operating mode required by the access-control system, building code, and Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Optional Monitoring

The 7400M monitored version incorporates two Form C monitoring switches.

Monitoring can indicate:

• Whether the latchbolt is engaged in the strike

• Whether the strike solenoid is in the locked or unlocked position
