Standard CALL Button
The standard button can be used for routine assistance or non-emergency communication.
Possible applications include:
-
General assistance
-
Directions
-
Security assistance
-
Facility information
-
Parking assistance
-
Building-entry help
EMERGENCY Button
The large red emergency button provides a clearly identifiable method for initiating an emergency communication request.
It can be programmed separately from the standard CALL button so the emergency request can be directed according to the facility's emergency-response plan.
Up to 20 Call Destinations Per Button
Both buttons can be programmed to call up to:
20 Stations Each
This provides considerable routing flexibility.
For example, the standard CALL button could contact:
-
Reception
-
Parking office
-
Information desk
while the EMERGENCY button could contact:
-
Security
-
Emergency operations
-
Guard station
-
Multiple answering stations
Actual routing is determined through IX / IXG system programming.
ADA Rescue-Assistance Features
The station incorporates features designed for accessible rescue-assistance communication.
These include:
-
Raised-letter identification
-
Braille signage
-
Clearly differentiated standard and emergency buttons
-
Visual call-status indicators
-
Hands-free communication
Aiphone states that the station's call-status indicators meet ADA rescue-assistance requirements.
Final system compliance depends on the complete installation, mounting height, location, signage, system design, and applicable local code requirements.
Raised Lettering & Braille
The front panel identifies both functions with tactile signage.
The station includes:
CALL
and:
EMERGENCY
placards with raised lettering and Braille.
This provides both visual and tactile identification of the station controls.

Station status
This provides important feedback to a user who may not be able to rely solely on audible tones.
Hands-Free Communication
Communication is completely hands-free through the station's built-in:
-
Microphone
-
Speaker
Once an operator answers, the person at the emergency station can communicate without holding a handset.
This is particularly important in rescue-assistance and accessibility applications.

Adjustable Camera Angle
The camera can be manually adjusted during installation to:
-
+15°
-
0°
-
-8°
This allows the installer to compensate for station mounting height and the expected user position.
The adjustment is mechanical rather than motorized PTZ.
Entrance Viewing Area
Aiphone documents an approximate viewing area of:
2'1" Vertical × 3'1" Horizontal
at approximately:
20" from the station
Actual coverage varies according to mounting height, camera adjustment, and the physical installation.
