7-Inch Touchscreen
The IX-MV7-HB features a large 7" touchscreen interface for controlling everyday intercom functions.
Operators can use the display for:
-
Answering calls
-
Selecting stations
-
Viewing entrance cameras
-
Monitoring stations
-
Door release
-
Paging
-
Reviewing the station directory
-
Selecting speed-dial functions
-
Accessing system controls
The touchscreen format is especially useful at security, reception, and administrative desks where multiple stations may need to be managed.
Built-In Camera
The IX-MV7-HB includes its own camera, allowing supported two-way video communication between compatible stations.
A physical:
Privacy Shutter
is built into the station so the local camera can be covered when video transmission is not desired.
Hands-Free Communication
The answering station supports:
Full-Duplex Hands-Free Communication
allowing both parties to speak naturally without using a handset.
This is ideal for:
-
Security desks
-
Reception counters
-
Offices
-
Administrative workstations
-
Dispatch locations
Privacy Handset
The IX-MV7-HB also includes a traditional handset for conversations that require additional privacy.
Handset mode provides:
Full-Duplex Communication
and allows the operator to communicate without broadcasting the conversation through the station speaker.
Push-to-Talk Mode
In high-noise environments, the station can also operate using:
Push-to-Talk / Simplex Communication
This can help provide clearer communication where background noise makes automatic full-duplex operation difficult.
8 Programmable Speed-Dial Buttons
The IX-MV7-HB provides:
8 Customizable Speed-Dial Buttons
These controls can be configured for functions such as:
-
Call a station
-
Page a station or group
-
Monitor a station
-
Activate a contact closure
This allows frequently used functions to be accessed without navigating through the full station directory.
500-Station Address Book
The IX-MV7-HB supports an address book containing up to:
500 Stations
Stations can be selected through the directory or by direct dialing the assigned station number.
This makes the IX-MV7-HB suitable for both small commercial systems and large campus-style IP intercom installations.
Station Monitoring
The operator can select and monitor a compatible station directly from the IX-MV7-HB.
The station can also perform:
Scan Monitoring of Up to 500 Addressed Stations
according to the configured system and monitoring permissions.
This can be useful for:
-
Security entrances
-
Emergency stations
-
Campus locations
-
Parking areas
-
Building entrances
Line Supervision
The IX-MV7-HB supports system supervision functions that help monitor the status of addressed devices.
This includes:
-
Line supervision
-
Scheduled device checks
These tools help security and facility personnel identify communication devices that may no longer be available on the network.
Video Entrance Monitoring
Compatible IX and IXG video door or entrance stations can be viewed directly from the 7" display.
Depending on the system configuration, operators can monitor entrances before or during communication.
Typical compatible station families include:
-
IX video door stations
-
IX emergency video stations
-
IXG entrance stations
-
Other compatible Aiphone IP video stations
Picture-in-Picture
The IX-MV7-HB supports Picture-in-Picture video.
This feature allows the operator to view:
-
The Aiphone intercom camera
and:
-
An associated ONVIF Profile S IP camera
at the same time.
This provides additional visual coverage of the entrance.
For example, an operator could view:
-
Close-up video from the intercom station
-
Wide-angle video from a nearby surveillance camera
simultaneously.
ONVIF Profile S Compatibility
The station is:
ONVIF Profile S Compliant
This allows integration with compatible network cameras and supported video-security systems.
Actual integration capabilities depend on the third-party device and system configuration.
SIP Compliance
The IX-MV7-HB is also:
SIP Compliant
This provides integration capabilities with compatible SIP communication platforms.
The exact features available through a third-party SIP system depend on:
-
SIP server
-
Network design
-
System programming
-
Third-party platform capabilities
Door Release
The IX-MV7-HB provides door-release control for the entrance associated with the active door-station communication.
Aiphone specifies:
2 Normally Open Dry Contact Outputs
rated:
24V AC/DC, 1A
These outputs can also be assigned for applicable programmable control functions.
Door-Release Applications
Compatible locking equipment may include:
-
Electric strikes
-
Access-control relays
-
Gate interfaces
-
External locking relays
Always verify the connected load against the station's contact rating.
Higher-current equipment should be controlled through an appropriately rated external relay.
Four Trigger Inputs
The IX-MV7-HB provides:
4 Programmable Trigger Inputs
These inputs can be incorporated into compatible system functions.
Possible applications can include:
-
External push buttons
-
Alarm inputs
-
Security-system interfaces
-
Auxiliary contact inputs
-
Other dry-contact devices
Function is determined by station programming.
Paging
The IX-MV7-HB can provide paging to:
-
Individual groups
-
Selected station groups
-
All applicable stations
This makes the unit useful for facilities requiring intercom and paging from the same workstation.
External Speaker Output
A built-in:
8Ω, 0.5W Speaker Output
can be used with compatible external speaker equipment to increase announcement coverage near the answering station.
The connected speaker must match Aiphone's specified impedance and load requirements.
600-Ohm Audio Input
The station also provides:
600Ω Audio Input
for compatible external audio integration.
This can support project-specific paging or audio-source applications when properly configured.
Bell Schedule
The IX-MV7-HB supports an internal bell schedule with up to:
50 Events Per Day
Scheduled events can be used in applications such as:
-
Schools
-
Industrial facilities
-
Shift changes
-
Break schedules
-
Facility announcements
Actual bell and paging design depends on the complete IX / IXG configuration.
microSD Recording
Audio and video from active conversations can be recorded to a:
microSD Card
The card is:
Not Included
Recording capability provides additional documentation of applicable intercom activity directly at the answering station.
Storage capacity depends on the installed card and recording activity.
CAT-5e / CAT-6 Network Connection
The IX-MV7-HB connects to the IP network using:
-
CAT-5e
-
CAT-6
Maximum standard Ethernet distance between the station and network node:
330 ft / 100 m
Longer distances require appropriate network infrastructure such as additional switches or approved network-extension equipment.
PoE Power
The IX-MV7-HB is powered by:
IEEE 802.3af Class 0 PoE
Power draw:
4.32 Watts
This eliminates the need for a dedicated low-voltage power cable at the station when connected to a compatible PoE network switch or injector.
Network Protocols
The IX-MV7-HB supports network protocols including:
-
IPv4
-
IPv6
-
TCP
-
UDP
