Two-Door Communication & Release Functions

1. Dual Entrance Communication

The JOW-2D allows two JO Series video door stations to communicate with the connected indoor answering station.

When a visitor presses the call button at either entrance, the associated camera image is displayed on the compatible indoor monitor.

2. Selective Door Release

Each door station has an associated relay output.

When an authorized user activates the door-release function during communication, the adaptor activates the release relay for that particular entrance.

This helps ensure that only the intended door is unlocked.

3. Existing System Expansion

The adaptor can be installed into a compatible existing single-door JO Series system, allowing a second entrance station to be added without replacing the complete intercom system.

4. Wi-Fi & Mobile App Integration

When used with the Aiphone JO-1MDW Wi-Fi Master Station, the expanded system can support compatible smartphone communication through the Aiphone Intercom App Type B.

Mobile app users can answer calls from the connected entrance stations and activate supported door-release functions when properly configured.

Important: The JOW-2D does not independently provide Wi-Fi or mobile app connectivity. Those functions require the compatible JO-1MDW master station.

Important Installation Information

• The adaptor supports a maximum of two connected video door stations.

• Only Door 1 can be monitored on demand from the master station.

• Door 2 can communicate with answering stations and compatible mobile applications only when a visitor initiates a call from Door 2.

• When one door station is in active use, the second station cannot initiate another call.

• The JOW-2D is not suitable for mantrap or interlock applications.

• Relay outputs are normally open dry contacts and do not supply operating power to electric locks.

• The adaptor does not include a video camera, speaker, microphone, or monitor.

• It is not a PoE-powered or Ethernet-based IP intercom adaptor.
