Compatible Proximity Credentials for KP-300
Important: Electrical compatibility depends on the selected keypad's relay rating, input voltage, power requirements, and the connected locking system.
Keypad Operation & Access Control Functions
1. PIN-Based Access
Authorized users enter their programmed access codes into the keypad.
Once a valid code is accepted, the keypad operates its corresponding output relay to permit access through the connected electronic locking equipment.
The configured access duration depends on the keypad's programming.
2. Multiple User Codes
Selected KP Series models support separate credentials for multiple users.
Depending on the model, installers can configure up to 100 or 1,000 user codes, along with temporary visitor credentials where supported.
This is useful for buildings requiring individual employee codes or temporary access for authorized visitors.
3. Proximity Card Access – KP-300 Only
The KP-300 incorporates a compatible proximity card reader.
The keypad supports:
-
PIN-only entry
-
Card-only entry
-
Card-and-PIN authentication
This allows facilities to select the access method most appropriate for their security requirements.
The KP-100A, KP-200, and KP-400 do not include a proximity reader as a standard feature.
4. Programmable Relay Outputs
KP Series keypads provide one or two relay outputs, depending on the selected model.
These outputs allow the keypad to operate appropriately rated access-control equipment, such as an electric strike or magnetic-lock release circuit.
The connected locking equipment may require a separate power supply or interface relay.
5. Request-to-Exit Integration
The keypads include support for compatible request-to-exit connections.
When configured correctly, external exit-control equipment can activate the appropriate access-control release function.
The keypad itself does not replace required emergency-egress hardware or independent emergency-release provisions.
6. Tamper Monitoring
Built-in tamper switches can provide electrical feedback when a keypad enclosure is disturbed or removed.
A compatible monitoring system is required to make use of this information.
7. Weather-Resistant Access Control
For entrances exposed to weather, choose the model designed for the installation:
-
KP-300: IP65, mullion-mounted keypad with proximity reader
-
KP-400: IP66, heavy-duty surface-mount keypad
Both models are suitable for appropriately installed indoor or outdoor access-control applications.
The KP-100A and KP-200 are specified for indoor installation.
