Commercial Wireless Access Control | Remote Maglock & Electric Strike Release | 12/24V AC/DC Receiver | Rolling-Code Security | Single- and Three-Door Options
Provide convenient wireless control of commercial entrances with the Alarm Controls RT Series Wireless Transmitters and Receivers, designed to operate compatible electronic locks, gate operators, automatic door systems, and access-control equipment.
Manufactured by Alarm Controls, an ASSA ABLOY company, the RT Series provides an effective solution for reception desks, security stations, offices, warehouses, and other locations where running control wiring to a remote push button would be difficult or impractical.
The series offers wireless control for one or up to three independently selected doors, depending on the transmitter and receiver configuration.
The RT-1 kit includes one wireless receiver and two remote transmitters for single-door applications. The RT-3 kit includes three receivers and one three-button transmitter for controlling up to three separate door-release circuits.
Both systems use 433.92 MHz radio communication with rolling-code technology, providing more than one billion code combinations.
The compact receiver operates on 12V or 24V AC/DC power and includes a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) relay rated at 1 amp at 30V DC or 120V AC.
A standard five-second momentary relay output is provided, with an optional latching configuration for applications requiring maintained relay activation.
With a manufacturer-rated wireless range of up to 300 feet, expandable transmitter capacity, and compact mounting options, the Alarm Controls RT Series offers a practical remote-control solution for professional commercial access-control installations.

How the RT Series Works
1. Wireless Remote Activation
When an authorized user presses a programmed transmitter button, the transmitter sends a rolling-code radio signal to its paired receiver.
The receiver recognizes the signal and activates its output relay.
The relay then operates the connected door-release controller or other compatible device.
2. Momentary Door Release
The standard receiver setting provides a five-second momentary relay output.
This can be used to initiate a temporary release through a properly configured access-control system.
Actual unlocking and relocking depend on the connected lock, controller, and door hardware.
3. Optional Latching Operation
The receiver can be configured for alternate-action latching operation.
In this mode, pressing the transmitter button changes and maintains the relay state.
Pressing the button again changes the state back.
Important: Latching operation must be evaluated for the application, particularly when it affects required emergency egress or building security.
4. Rolling-Code Communication
The RT Series uses rolling-code technology with more than one billion code combinations.
This provides a changing transmitter signal rather than a permanently repeated fixed code.
The rolling-code feature should not be interpreted as providing a complete encrypted network-access-control system.
5. Multiple Transmitter Pairing
Each receiver supports pairing with up to 30 compatible transmitters.
This is useful when several authorized users need to operate the same door-release circuit.
The pairing procedure is performed using the receiver's learning button.
6. Three-Door Operation – RT-3
The RT-3 transmitter has three buttons labeled A, B, and C.
Each button can be paired with a corresponding receiver, providing independent wireless control of up to three door-release circuits.
The system requires correct pairing and wiring at each receiver.
7. Receiver Status Indication
The receiver features a bi-color LED:
-
Green: Power On
-
Red: Relay Activated
The indicator also provides feedback during transmitter pairing.
Compatible Access Control Equipment
Alarm Controls RT Series receivers can interface with properly rated:
-
Electromagnetic Door Locks
-
Electric Strikes
-
Access-Control Controllers
-
Electric Door-Release Relays
-
Automatic Swing Door Operators
-
Automatic Sliding Door Operators
-
Commercial Gate Operators
-
Keypad Access Systems
-
Remote Security Controls
-
Reception Desk Door-Release Systems
Important: The RT receiver provides a 1A SPDT relay contact. Equipment exceeding that rating must be controlled through an appropriately rated interface relay or controller.
The receiver does not independently supply power to an electromagnetic lock or electric strike.

Installation & Compatibility
Alarm Controls RT Series equipment should be installed by qualified personnel familiar with commercial electronic door hardware and access-control systems.
The wireless transmitter does not require a control cable to the receiver.
However, the receiver must be connected to a suitable low-voltage power source and wired to the compatible door-release equipment.
Installation Considerations
-
Determine whether one-door or three-door control is required.
-
Select RT-1 for a standard single-door kit or RT-3 for up to three separate receiver outputs.
-
Provide 12V or 24V AC/DC power to the receiver.
-
Connect the SPDT relay contacts according to the approved access-control diagram.
-
Verify that the relay's 1A contact rating is not exceeded.
-
Install an appropriately rated interface relay where required.
-
Mount the receiver in an appropriate protected location.
-
Position the receiver antenna for suitable radio reception.
-
Pair each transmitter with the intended receiver.
-
Select momentary or latching operation as required.
-
Test operation at the intended transmitter location.
-
Verify all required independent exit and emergency-release equipment.
Important Installation Information
-
RT-1 includes one receiver and two transmitters.
-
RT-3 includes three receivers and one three-button transmitter.
-
RT-1T, RT-1TW, and RT-3R are accessories, not complete kits.
-
Receiver electrical power is required for system operation.
-
The system's wireless feature applies to communication between transmitter and receiver; the receiver itself must be wired.
-
Maximum radio range depends on building construction, interference, receiver location, and antenna positioning.
-
The stated 300-foot range is a maximum, not a guaranteed range through all walls and structures.
-
The receiver's 1A contacts must not be overloaded.
-
Wireless activation does not independently provide lock power.
-
Remote release equipment must not be used as a substitute for required emergency-egress controls.
-
An RT receiver or transmitter alone does not establish code compliance for an electromagnetic locking system.
-
Additional power supplies, interface relays, locks, controllers, wiring, and installation accessories are sold separately unless explicitly included.
-
Install according to the manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical and life-safety requirements.
