The alarm can alternatively be configured for continuous operation requiring an authorized key reset.

How the Alarm Lock 710X28 Works

1. Armed Condition

The device is armed by projecting the mechanical deadbolt using a compatible rim cylinder and key.

Once armed, the exit remains mechanically secured against unauthorized entry while permitting exit through the push bar.

2. Emergency Exit Activation

When the push bar is depressed, the mechanical deadbolt releases immediately.

If the device is armed, the integrated dual-tone siren sounds to alert nearby personnel.

The 710X28 does not delay mechanical egress.

3. Two-Minute Automatic Alarm Shutdown

When the automatic shutdown mode is selected, the siren sounds for approximately two minutes following activation.

The device then checks the door condition.

• If the door is closed, the audible alarm can stop.

• If the door remains open, the alarm continues and checks the door condition again at the next interval.

This provides controlled alarm operation without requiring personnel to manually silence every alarm event.

4. Automatic Retriggering

The distinguishing feature of the Alarm Lock 710 Series is its retriggering alarm circuit.

After the first alarm cycle has ended and the door is closed, the alarm remains capable of sounding again when the door is reopened.

This function continues until the deadbolt is relocked using the key.

Important: Automatic alarm retriggering does not mean the device automatically projects or relocks its mechanical deadbolt.

5. Continuous Alarm with Manual Reset

The device can alternatively be configured for continuous alarm operation.

In this mode, the alarm remains active until the authorized key-reset procedure is completed.

6. Authorized Disarming

When the deadbolt is retracted using the key, the device provides an audible indication that it is disarmed.

The door can then be operated without triggering an unauthorized-exit alarm while in the appropriate disarmed condition.

7. Low-Battery Warning

The 710X28 provides a periodic audible warning when the battery becomes weak.

Alarm Lock recommends replacing a weak battery promptly and checking device operation during routine maintenance.
