Commercial Delayed Egress Exit Lock | 33" Push Bar | 95 dB Alarm | Fire Alarm Interface | Remote Monitoring Output | AC Powered with 9V Battery Backup
Help control unauthorized use of commercial emergency exits with the Alarm Lock 715X28X88 Sirenlock Delayed Egress Panic Exit Device.
Manufactured by Alarm Lock, a division of NAPCO Security Technologies, the 715X28X88 combines a mechanical deadbolt and deadlatch with a 15-second delayed-egress release system and an immediate 95 dB dual-piezo audible alarm.
When the device is armed and someone presses the push bar, the deadbolt retracts and the alarm sounds immediately. The electronic control system temporarily holds the deadlatch, preventing the door from opening until the prescribed 15-second release period expires.
For qualifying emergencies, the system provides an input for connection to an approved fire-alarm or supervised life-safety system, allowing immediate release without the normal delay.
The 715X28X88 includes the Option 88 remote interface and alarm-indicator relay, providing connections for compatible remote monitoring equipment, auxiliary alarms, and other security-system functions.
Featuring a 33-inch actual-length aluminum push bar, heavy-duty die-cast lock housing, and US28 Satin Aluminum finish, the device is designed for surface installation on compatible commercial single doors and properly configured paired-door openings.
The system is powered by an included 12V AC, 20VA transformer and uses a 9V alkaline battery for standby alarm operation.
The Alarm Lock 715X28X88 is designed for commercial facilities requiring professionally installed delayed-egress security, subject to approval by the applicable authority having jurisdiction.

How the Alarm Lock 715X28X88 Works
1. Armed Condition
An authorized user arms the exit device by projecting the mechanical deadbolt using the required rim cylinder.
When armed, the control-box LED indicates the secured operating condition.
2. Push-Bar Activation
When the push bar is depressed while the device is armed:
-
The mechanical deadbolt retracts.
-
The 95 dB dual-piezo alarm sounds immediately.
-
The electrically controlled deadlatch temporarily holds the exit closed.
-
The delayed-egress countdown begins.
3. Fifteen-Second Delayed Release
After the designated 15-second delay, the control system releases the deadlatch, permitting the door to open.
This delay is intended to provide an audible warning and an opportunity for security personnel to respond.
The delayed-release feature may be used only where approved by applicable life-safety and building regulations.
4. Emergency Fire Alarm Release
When properly connected to an approved, supervised fire-detection or sprinkler system, the Model 715 supports immediate release during a qualifying emergency.
The required emergency-release interface bypasses the normal delayed-egress period.
The fire-alarm connection is a required part of a compliant installation under the manufacturer's NFPA 101 instructions.
5. Remote Monitoring – Option 88
The included Option 88 configuration provides a remote interface and alarm-indicator relay.
This enables integration with compatible equipment such as:
-
Remote security monitoring systems
-
Auxiliary audible alarms
-
CCTV event interfaces
-
Other appropriately designed security-control equipment
Additional equipment and wiring are sold separately.
6. Alarm Reset
The 715 Series provides two selectable alarm operating configurations.
Continuous alarm: The alarm remains active until an authorized user performs the required key-reset procedure.
Two-minute shutdown: The audible alarm automatically stops after approximately two minutes, according to the selected configuration.
7. Battery Backup
The included 9V alkaline battery provides alarm standby capability if primary AC power is interrupted.
The battery must remain installed for proper operation, even when the transformer is supplying normal power.
8. Low-Battery Indication
The device produces an audible warning when battery voltage becomes low.
Periodic maintenance and testing are recommended to maintain reliable performance.
