The Alarm Lock 715X28X88X48 Sirenlock Delayed Egress Exit Alarm is a commercial-grade electronic exit security device designed to discourage unauthorized exits while maintaining emergency egress capabilities. Featuring a 48-inch nominal push bar, 15-second delayed release, 95 dB dual piezo alarm, and remote monitoring output, this heavy-duty device provides exit control for commercial, institutional, retail, and healthcare facilities.
Part of the Alarm Lock 715 Series, this surface-mounted exit device combines a mechanical deadbolt, electronically controlled deadlatch, audible alarm, and electronic control system into one integrated solution.
When armed, depressing the push bar immediately activates the audible alarm and initiates the 15-second release sequence. The door remains secured during the delay, allowing security personnel to respond before the door can be opened. Following the delay, the locking mechanism releases to permit exit.
The device also supports integration with approved fire alarm and smoke detection systems to bypass the delay during emergencies.
Finished in US28 / 628 Satin Aluminum, the 715X28X88X48 provides reliable functionality and a professional appearance for commercial openings.

How the Delayed Egress System Operates
1. Armed Mode
The device is armed using a compatible rim cylinder. When armed, the deadbolt engages and the electronic delay system becomes active. An LED on the control box indicates that the device is armed.
2. Push Bar Activation
When a person depresses the push bar, the 95 dB audible alarm sounds immediately. The deadbolt retracts, but the electronically controlled deadlatch prevents the door from opening during the programmed delay period.
3. Delayed Door Release
After approximately 15 seconds, the electronic mechanism releases the deadlatch, allowing the door to open.
4. Emergency Release
When properly connected emergency release equipment is activated, the device bypasses the delay to permit immediate egress.
5. Alarm Reset
Authorized personnel can disarm and reset the system using the required rim cylinder and key.
Power Supply and Battery Backup
The Alarm Lock 715X28X88X48 operates using an included 12VAC, 20VA transformer connected to a suitable continuous electrical power source.
The included 9V alkaline battery supports the alarm circuit during interruptions in AC power.
Typical battery performance published for the 715 Series includes:
-
Approximately one year of standby battery life.
-
Approximately 200 alarm activations.
-
Approximately seven hours of continuous alarm operation.
Actual performance depends on operating conditions and battery condition.
The device incorporates electrically fail-safe emergency-egress functionality. The backup battery should not be treated as an uninterrupted power source for the normal electronic locking function.
