Commercial Wireless Access Control | Locking Metal Communicator Enclosure | 12V Battery Backup Circuit | AirAccess Gateway | Cloud & Mobile Management
Upgrade commercial building security with the Alarm Lock AA-KIT2APOWER AirAccess Starter Kit 2A, a cellular cloud-based access-control solution designed for remote management of compatible electronic door locks and security equipment.
Manufactured by Alarm Lock, a division of NAPCO Security Technologies, the AA-KIT2APOWER combines an AA-LTEA-PW StarLink cellular communicator, an AA-GATEWAY wireless access-control gateway, and access to the AirAccess cloud management platform.
Unlike the standard AA-KIT1A, this kit features a locking metal communicator enclosure with a built-in 12V rechargeable battery charging circuit, allowing backup power capability when an appropriate battery is installed.
The cellular communicator connects the access-control system to the cloud using the supported AT&T cellular network, reducing the need for the customer's existing internet connection, dedicated server, or complex firewall configuration.
The included wireless gateway supports communication with up to 63 compatible Trilogy Networx locks, ArchiTech locks, or NetworxPanel devices, subject to the system's configuration and wireless expansion requirements.
Authorized personnel can manage compatible doors, user credentials, access schedules, security events, and supported lockdown functions through the AirAccess web portal and mobile application.
Designed for commercial offices, warehouses, schools, retail facilities, industrial buildings, and multi-tenant properties, the AA-KIT2APOWER provides a scalable foundation for professional access-control installations.
Important: A rechargeable 12V backup battery is required to enable standby power and is sold separately. A paid cellular service plan is also required.

How the AirAccess System Works
1. Cellular Communication
The AA-LTEA-PW establishes the AirAccess cloud connection over a supported cellular network.
This allows cloud communication without relying on the building's normal internet connection.
2. Gateway Connection
The AA-GATEWAY connects to the cellular communicator through a local Ethernet connection.
The gateway then communicates wirelessly with appropriately configured Networx locking hardware and access-control panels.
3. Cloud Management
Authorized users can access the AirAccess platform to manage supported door-control functions, credentials, and system settings.
4. Security Monitoring
The system supports access-event reporting and configurable notifications when the required compatible equipment is installed.
5. Battery Backup Operation
The AA-LTEA-PW includes the charging circuitry needed for a compatible 12V rechargeable backup battery.
When the correct battery is installed and the system is properly configured, it can provide standby power for supported communicator equipment during qualifying power interruptions.
The charging circuit alone does not provide backup operation without a battery. Backup runtime depends on the selected battery and electrical load.
6. System Expansion
The AirAccess architecture supports additional gateways and wireless network expansion equipment.
Manufacturer literature describes support for up to six gateways per communicator, with each gateway supporting a maximum of 63 compatible wireless devices, subject to system design and expansion limits.
