Combine delayed-egress security, access control, and powered latch retraction in one heavy-duty commercial exit device with the Detex 10 EE ER 630 Advantex Rim Exit Device.
Designed for demanding commercial and institutional openings, the Detex EE ER configuration combines a standard 15-second delayed-egress function with electric latch retraction. This allows the opening to deter unauthorized egress while also supporting authorized remote unlocking, remote dogging, card-reader access, and automatic-door operation.
Available in 36" or 48" device lengths, the 10 EE ER features durable 630 / US32D Satin Stainless Steel construction and Detex Advantex Grade 1 performance.

EE – Delayed Egress
The EE delayed-egress function helps deter unauthorized use of an emergency exit.
When an unauthorized exit attempt occurs:
-
Pressure on the exit device initiates the delayed-egress sequence.
-
The system's approximately 100 dB alarm sounds.
-
The door remains secured for the standard 15-second delay.
-
After the required delay expires, egress is permitted.
The delayed-egress function provides facility personnel additional response time while maintaining required life-safety operation.
ER – Electric Latch Retraction
The ER Electric Latch Retraction function electrically retracts the exit-device latch for authorized access.
When activated by the compatible Detex controller or access-control system, the latch can retract for:
-
Card-reader access
-
Keypad access
-
Remote door release
-
Remote dogging
-
Automatic-door operation
-
Authorized entry
-
Authorized exit
This allows the opening to be electronically controlled without requiring an electric strike or magnetic lock for normal authorized access.
EE + ER Combined Function
The EE and ER functions serve different purposes within the same system.
EE controls unauthorized exit attempts through delayed egress.
ER provides powered latch retraction when an authorized electrical signal is received.
The electric latch-retraction function should not be confused with the release that occurs at the end of the delayed-egress cycle.
Access Control Integration
The EE ER configuration is ideal for openings integrated with:
-
Card readers
-
Keypads
-
Credential systems
-
Remote release stations
-
Building access-control systems
-
Automatic swing-door operators
-
Security-management systems
This makes it particularly useful for controlled entrances where both authorized access and unauthorized-exit prevention are required.
Logic Controller / Power Supply Required
A compatible Detex logic controller / power supply is required and sold separately.
Controller selection depends on the specific installation and system configuration.
Detex controller options for EE ER applications provide the required control logic and remote interface functions, including the system alarm and status indication.
Always verify the appropriate controller before ordering the complete system.
Fire Alarm Interface
Delayed-egress applications require an approved fire-alarm interface.
When the required emergency signal is received, the delayed locking function is overridden to permit immediate egress as required by the applicable life-safety system.
Installation must comply with local building and fire codes and requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
630 Satin Stainless Steel
The 630 / US32D Satin Stainless Steel finish provides excellent durability and a professional commercial appearance for high-traffic openings.
Ideal for:
-
Healthcare facilities
-
Airports
-
