EX W – Weatherized Request-to-Exit

The EX W option provides a weatherized switch that monitors when the panic-device pushpad is depressed.

The switch can send a low-current signal to compatible:

• Access-control panels

• Other compatible control equipment

Detex uses a standard SPDT / Form C switch, providing both Normally Open and Normally Closed contacts.

Important: EX W vs. EXV W

The EX W is intended for low-current signaling.

If the exit-device switch must directly interrupt or shunt higher-current power, such as certain electromagnetic-lock applications, Detex specifies the separate EXV W high-current weatherized switch.
