Designed for Detex EE x ER

The Detex EE x ER system combines two electrified exit-device functions:

EE – Delayed Egress

and

ER – Electric Latch Retraction

This allows a compatible Detex exit device to provide delayed egress while also supporting:

Remote Interface Unit Function

The 103823 RIU serves as the wall-mounted operator interface between the user and the Series 800 controller.

Depending on system configuration, it is used for functions such as:

Integrated Alarm

When an unauthorized exit attempt activates delayed egress, the RIU sounds an alarm of approximately:

The door remains secured during the programmed delayed-egress period before release, subject to the system configuration and applicable life-safety requirements.

Dummy Plug / Cylinder

This version is supplied with a dummy cylinder / plug instead of an operating key cylinder.

This is appropriate when system control is handled by:
