EE – Delayed Egress

The Detex EE Delayed Egress function is designed to discourage unauthorized use of an emergency exit while still allowing egress after the code-required delay.

When an armed device detects an exit attempt:

1. The alarm activates at approximately 100 dB.

2. The delayed-egress timer begins.

3. The door remains secured during the standard 15-second delay.

4. After the delay expires, the door can be opened.

Detex states that its EE system is intended for primary and secondary exits where controlling unauthorized egress is required.

Fire Alarm Interface

Because this particular PSO/PS0 device does not include the power supply, verify that the power supply selected for the opening provides the required fire-alarm interface.

9V Battery Backup

The EE system uses a 9V backup battery for the alarm function during a power failure.
