Designed by Security Door Controls (SDC), the PT-3V uses a flexible stainless-steel armored conduit with aluminum surface-mount termination boxes, creating a protected pathway for power and control wiring between the stationary frame and moving door.

The 628 Satin Aluminum finish coordinates well with aluminum storefront frames and commercial architectural hardware, making the PT-3V an excellent solution for access-controlled hollow metal and aluminum door openings.

Surface-Mount Power Transfer

The PT-3V transfers electrical wiring from the stationary door frame into the moving door.

The flexible armored conduit moves with the door while protecting the field-installed conductors used to operate compatible electrified hardware.

This provides a simple alternative to mortised power-transfer devices where a visible surface-mounted loop is acceptable.

Aluminum Termination Boxes

Unlike the PT-2U, which uses plastic end caps, the PT-3V uses aluminum box-style termination ends.

The boxes provide enclosed connection points at the door and frame while creating a clean commercial installation.

Do not assume the PT-3V carries the same fire-door certification as SDC's PT-5 concealed mortise transfer.

SDC specifically identifies its UL 10C 3-hour certification as applying to the PT-5 within the PT Series documentation.

For a rated opening, confirm that the selected power-transfer method is permitted as part of the complete listed door assembly.
